Following on from the 6-5 thriller against Burton last week, Cheltenham face a Port Vale side fresh from a 5-0 victory at Chesterfield. The Valiants are mounting a push for the play-offs and will be looking to put pressure on the Robins shaky defence.

Vital Quotes:

Mark Yates (speaking to ctfc.com): ‘We’ve obviously conceded far to many goals than we would have liked last week. Since I’ve come here we’ve always been fairly solid but it was a crazy game and the vital thing was that we came out with three points. To come back in the manner we did on that many occasions was tremendous and it’s given the camp a real boost but now we have to take that confidence into the Port Vale game otherwise it means nothing.’

Cheltenham Town Team News:

Shane Duff could be set for a first start since returning from his achilles injury, Ashley Eastham would probably make way. Josh Low is out, whilst Dave Bird may feature after recovering from ankle ligament damage.

Player to watch: Julian Alsop

Although he may not start, Alsop could certainly be an important player tomorrow. Coming off the bench, he poses a different threat to the opposition backline and could become Cheltenham’s all time leading league goalscorer if he nets on Saturday.

Port Vale Team News:

Vale look set to be unchanged from the side which thrashed Chesterfield last week. Sean Rigg, Adam Yates and Chris Martin could be pushing for inclusion having featured for the reserves during the week.

Player to watch: Marc Richards

The one time Cheltenham target netted a hattrick versus Chesterfield and will be looking to add to his tally against a Cheltenham defence which conceded five last weekend.
