Cheltenham skipper Matt Taylor has been ruled out for the next six weeks after suffering a hamstring tear in the game against Northampton Town at the weekend.

The 32 year old defender suffered the injury in the 26th minute of the game and was obviously substituted in the game for Jack Deaman our three two win.

The former Bradford City player also missed the second half of last season with a foot ligament injury so he’ll be hoping he can turn out and make his 16th appearance for the club sooner rather than later.

Speaking briefly to the Official Site senior sports therapist Ian Weston explained.

‘As he was going into a sprint, Matt felt a pop in his hamstring. He has a palpable mid belly tear in the muscle which will rule him out for six weeks.’
