Manager Mark Yates has added former Bradford City centre half Matt Taylor to our ranks today.

He left Bradford over the summer by mutual consent and arrives as a free agent following his medical earlier today, and the 32 year old has signed a two year contract.

Speaking to the Official Site after completing the paperwork, Taylor said.

‘It’s always important to get the future sorted. There is a good set of lads down here who are hungry to do well and they are the sort of ingredients you need to have success and there’s no reason why we can’t look forward to having a good season. I like to think I’m an experienced defender who is quite solid and I’ve played enough games now! Hopefully I can talk to the lads around me, encourage them and give everything to the team.’

He has been handed the No 4 shirt for the coming season.

So far in his career he has played in over 200 games, scoring 22 goals.
