Kemar Roofe has said that he’s looking forward to the opportunity to impress the home crowd if selected to make his Abbey Business Stadium debut against Hartlepool.

The 20 year old on loan West Bromwich Albion youngster has had a decent introduction to life at the club so far, making two appearances in games that saw us take four points – Southend and Morecambe – and he’d clearly love the opportunity to play his part in getting all three points this weekend and making that record look even better.

Speaking to the Western Daily Press the youngster said that everybody within the camp was looking to set the stat books right which show we have only won twice this season at home, and have failed to score in our last two home encounters as well, and Roofe feels that with how our midfield is performing now, the goals should soon follow.

‘I am looking forward to making my first appearance for Cheltenham there after two long away trips and, hopefully, I can keep creating chances and score a goal myself.’

Roofe goes on to say that this isn’t just any kind of loan spell for him because his contract is up at the end of the campaign, so he knows he has to impress during his time here to earn a new contract at his parent club, and should that not happen, at least impress to maybe make the gaffer here want to take a punt on him.

Craig Braham-Barrett has also been in the press recently and has praised manager Mark Yates for restoring his confidence following his injury laden start this season, and the 25 year old left back has said his form is all down to the belief that Yates has instilled in him despite the various injuries he’s had.

Hopefully with the recent win confidence really will be high and we can get that home victory we want.
