With Grimsby victorious last weekend the gap between Cheltenham and the bottom two has been cut to four points. The Robins away form under Mark Yates has been solid and they will be looking to keep picking up points on the road to haul themselves to safety.
Mark Yates after last weekend’s defeat to Chesterfield: ‘It was a decent enough performance but again we haven’t got anything from it. We’re not going to mope and we’ll be back in on Monday for a good week. We’ve earnt a bit of credit here today and hopefully we can carry that through to next weekend against Burton.’ (taken from ctfc.com)
The Burton side looks set to be much the same as the one that lined up in the corresponding fixture last month. Aaron Webster featured for the Brewers in that match, but hasn’t played since being sent off against Hereford on 20th February.
The former Scunthorpe man is a class player at this level and caused problems for Cheltenham when the two teams met last month. The front two of Shaun Harrad and Steve Kabba will also threaten the Robins if Taylor is allowed to supply them with quality crosses.
Julian Alsop may start after being rested for last weekend’s defeat to Chesterfield. There are no new injury worries for the Robins as Shane Duff looks set to continue his comeback on the bench. Last week’s debutants Medy Elito and Aaron Lescott should start again, whilst fellow loanee Danny Andrew could replace Lee Ridley at left back.
The fan’s favourite only needs one more goal to become Cheltenham’s leading goalscorer in the football league. He brings a work ethic and desire to the team as well, along with his vast experience.
If the Robins could sign a new striker in time for Saturday then they will stand a better chance of victory. An entertaining 1-1 draw to keep the points tally ticking over.
