Manager Mark Yates was left disappointed again following our showing in last night’s score less draw with Bristol Rovers.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game, the gaffer explained that he was actually pretty pleased with how first half showing, but he felt that we were poor in the second half and just didn’t do enough to win the game which was frustrating from his point of view.

‘The players have got to realise the importance of it to everybody like ourselves, the supporters, because everyone wants to win and everybody cares but some of the stuff in the second half wasn’t good enough.’

Yates goes on to say that our tempo in the second half just wasn’t what it should’ve been but by rights we should’ve done better with our chances in the first half and already have been in the lead.

Unfortunately they finished more strongly that we did so on balance a point was probably fair.

Overall though he didn’t feel we went at them enough, and we played too many square passes and went backwards way too often instead of trying to get ourselves on the front foot and threatening them.

Again it is another point, but we are drawing way too many for the manager and we need to turn these into wins, especially with how tight the league still is, so if we could stop dropping points we really could end up in a good position.

As for the positives, it is another clean sheet, defensively we were improved again but he wants the team to click in all areas together.
