Northern Ireland manager Lawrie Sanchez has named Grant McCann in his squad to take on Portugal at Windsor Park on Tuesday. Sanchez left his announcement until the last minute but McCann won’t mind as he gets the chance to add to his nine senior international caps. He hasn’t featured for his country since March 2004 when he played against Estonia. He was an unused sub in their World Cup qualifier against Austria last month.

With injury worries, it is hoped McCann could get a starting place.
