Two confirmations in loan news today, Kemar Roofe and Connor Goldson.

West Bromwich Albion, as manager Mark Yates confirmed in his press conference ahead of the Burton Albion game, have agreed for winger Kemar Roofe to extend his loan spell with Cheltenham initially for a second month, and his new deal with expire on February 5th.

Presumably, again as Yates has indicated, we can extend that for a third month.

As for Connor Goldson, owing to an injury to Shrewsbury player Darren Jones in the warm up of their last game against Leyton Orient, their manager Graham Turner has been forced to activate the 24 hour recall option in Connor’s recently agreed loan spell with us.

Goldson will consider himself unlucky as the new deal was only agreed a few short days ago.

With Goldson leaving, it’s likely that Steve Elliott will return to the starting XI as he had recovered from his own ankle injury.

Time will tell, but presumably if Jones hasn’t twisted is ankle that badly, maybe we will return for the player later in the month.
