In the first round proper draw of the FA Cup for 2013-14, Cheltenham will face a trip to The Lamb to take on Tamworth.

The first round clash will take place on Saturday November 9th and it will be the first time Cheltenham have ever faced off against Tamworth in the FA Cup.

It also stands as the first meeting between the two clubs since 1976-77.

Giving his reaction to what no doubt will be a 3pm kick off, manager Mark Yates said that under no circumstances will we underestimate our opponents, and even though he’d have preferred a home tie to kick off the FA Cup campaign, he has solice in the fact it’s not a long trip for the players to make and he’s sure our fans will have a good day out.

‘Tamworth have good players and we must be aware. They will fancy themselves in this tie and they will want FA Cup glory so we must be professional and be as good as we have been over the past month.’

Ticket, travel and full match details will be announced in due course, and everybody will at least want to match the progression through to round three for the third consecutive season.

Everton last year was a good tie even though we lost, hopefully we can get that far again and have the financial boost, or an easier opponent and go one stage further this time of asking.
