28 year old defender Keith Lowe has left for York City on a loan spell until January.

He has moved to the club in time to be considered for selection for their game against Southend United this weekend, and the loan move is with a view to a permanent deal being done in the New Year.

Speaking to the Official Site manager Mark Yates admitted that it was felt it was time for both Keith and Cheltenham to part company now, despite him being popular within the club.

‘Keith has been a good servant to this club over the last few seasons. The time is right for both ourselves and Keith because he needs to be starting games week in and week out at this stage of his career. Keith goes with our best wishes and we wish him the best of luck at York.’

Lowe first experience of life at Whaddon Road was during a loan spell from Wolverhampton Wanderers, one he revisited a few months later in the same season. He then re-signed for us in the summer of 2010 from Hereford.

His full Cheltenham record stands at 151 appearances across all competitions and he has scored 9 goals in that time.
