MIDFIELD

Dave Bird

T: ‘He has good matches, but equally bad matches as well. But, could we improve on him? I guess on balance I’d keep him.’

J: ‘He hasn’t played well at times this season, but we haven’t played well collectively. He can play different positions and is worth keeping as long as him improves next year.’

Michael Pook

T: ‘Keep him, don’t forget he scored a hat-trick! He’s got a bit more quality than some of the others.’

J: ‘When he performs well he is the John Finnigan-style player we need. He needs more consistency, but has been playing in a struggling team. He should stay.’

Josh Low

T: ‘I’d get rid of Josh Low, I think he’s rubbish! At times he does do well, but mostly he does nothing. He has got potential, but he looks disinterested.’

J: ‘I think Yates will keep him, he can be quite good sometimes. Could we do better? I’m undecided.’

Scott Brown (Having not seem him play since his return it’s difficult to comment)

David Hutton

T: ‘I like Hutton, he may not feature all the time. But he is better than most of the squad.’

J: ‘In terms of technical ability he is one of our best players, but he needs to bulk up. Well worth keeping hold of though.’

Jack Durrant (Haven’t seen him play!)

STRIKERS

Justin Richards

T: ‘Based on what I’ve seen I’d get rid of him. He hasn’t done anything whenever I’ve watched him.’

J: ‘At times he is rubbish, but he has top scored so far this season. Yates has managed him before and could get more out of him next season.’

Barry Hayles

T: ‘He was almost past it this season, so what’s he going to be like next year? I’d get rid.’

J: ‘At times he does play well, but he’s just too old. He’s expensive and Yates doesn’t seem to favour him. He’ll go.’

Julian Alsop

T: ‘He’s had a good season, but I don’t think he’d have another one. There’s no pace there, but he is a good target man.’

J: ‘Yates might not want to keep him for the whole season, but he’d keep him in mind. He offers something and can do a job off the bench.’
