Cheltenham Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Kevin Dawson in the three one victory over Colchester United at the weekend at Whaddon Road was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Dawson was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Dawson was named the EFL Star of the Day for Saturday, scoring twice in the first 15 minutes to put Cheltenham on their way to three points against Colchester United. The Robins were without a goal in their three prior outings, but the midfielder scored a fine header and a long-distance effort to end the drought and set up a 3-1 success.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Dawson for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Tomas Holy (Gillingham), Matt Kilgallon (Bradford City), David Mirfin (Mansfield Town), Christoph Zimmermann (Norwich City), Albert Adomah (Aston Villa), Kevin Dawson (Cheltenham Town), Jed Wallace (Millwall), Jake Taylor (Exeter City), Gboly Ariyibi (MK Dons), Luke Norris (Swindon Town), Jamal Lowe (Portsmouth).

Manager – Lee Johnson (Bristol City).
