Mark Yates has said the players did well today to stay on their feet, let alone come away with a point given the conditions.
Speaking to the Official Site following the game Yates said.
‘The weather and the pitch were always a concern. The pitch was really heavy. The lads did a commendable job just staying on their feet today. It was very tough, you couldn’t move and it was pretty farcical to be fair. We stuck at it, both teams had a few chances but it wasn’t a great spectacle.’
Yates adds that he was pleased with the clean sheet and that we definitely deserved something from the game, but importantly we’ve given ourselves a chance to go above Port Vale on Friday which has to be our aim.
