Cheltenham Town have signed former Aldershot centre half Troy Brown.

The 22 year old was released by Aldershot when their administrators made a number of player redundant and he signed a two year deal following talks here.

Speaking to the Official Site Neil Howarth said of the capture.

‘Troy will be a very good signing for us. He’s big and strong but he can also play a bit too. We kept a lot of clean sheets last season so that’s obviously something we want to maintain and I’m confident he will thrive next to Steve Elliott.’

Brown made 32 appearances for Aldershot last season and found the net 3 times.

Speaking himself after signing the deal, the youngster said.

‘I’m buzzing to have this opportunity. It’s a good footballing club and a well run one too so I can’t wait to get started. The gaffer praised Steve Elliott a lot in the press last season and I can’t wait to play alongside him this season because I think I can learn from him too.’
