Goalkeeper Trevor Carson has now completed his move to League Two side Hartlepool United.

Having moved to us last summer from Bury, he made 51 appearances across all competition in his one season with us, but having been relegated to the National League it was known he was looking to move on.

He leaves having won the Supporters’ Player of the Year for his efforts last season, and with the Northern Ireland international 27 year old having one year left, his move does include an undisclosed fee that obviously suited the club.

Speaking to the Official Site as his departure was announced, Carson left a message for the fans.

‘I’d like to say a massive thanks to all the fans at Cheltenham because they have been unbelievable for me. I’d like to wish everyone at the club good luck for the future and also thank Cheltenham for not standing in my way of moving. I made it quite clear I wanted to come back to the North East so I appreciate it. I’ll definitely be looking out for the results and hope the club can bounce straight back to League Two at the first attempt.’
