Cheltenham have today added another pre season fixture at Whaddon Road to our list, and it will see the return of Steve Cotterill and his current Bristol City side.

The game will take place on Tuesday July 29th and will kick off at 7.45pm.

Ticket prices are still to be confirmed, but should be announced shortly.

Of course Cotterill is well known by the club given he led us to the Football League all those years ago, and our current manager Mark Yates was a player under him in that time and worked alongside Cotterill during their time in the dug out at Burnley as well, so it should be a good occasion for all for a variety of reasons.

Cotterill himself said he was relishing the chance to come back to the club, and he told our Official Site as the friendly was announced.

‘Cheltenham’s pitch is terrific and will make for a good football match. The fact it’s my old club and home town is just an added nicety. I still have a number of friends there, and I know the chairman and vice chairman, so it should be a nice occasion.’

Our current pre season schedule currently read.

11.7.14 – Wolverhampton Wanderers (H)
12.7.14 – Evesham United (A)
29.7.14 – Bristol City (H)
