Cheltenham Town are represented in the latest Football League team of midweek that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Jack Barthram in the three two victory over Luton Town in midweek at Kenilworth Road was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Barthram was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Cheltenham picked up an impressive three points away at Luton Town in midweek, with Barthram playing his part at both ends of the pitch. The full-back was alert to clear an effort off the line, and he showed composure up the other end to score the Sky Bet League Two Goal of the Night.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Barthram for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Alex Smithies (Queens Park Rangers), Scott Malone (Fulham), Pontus Jansson (Leeds United), Jack Barthram (Cheltenham Town), Tom Ince (Derby County), Liam Kelly (Reading), David Edwards (Wolverhampton Wanderers), David Wheeler (Exeter City), Kenneth Zohore (Cardiff City), Lasse Vibe (Brentford), Britt Assombalonga (Nottingham Forest).

Manager – Darren Way (Yeovil Town).
